Alphasonics Blanket Wash

If you were to ask any Heidelberg CD or Speedmaster user what was his most dreaded job on his press was, he would undoubtedly tell you exactly what any Man Roland user would tell you. It is Cleaning the Blanket Wash Module, Bottom Cylinder Units, Ink Trays and Anilox Coating Rolls that gives him the greatest headache and heartache. Cleaning these items was the most tedious, thankless and soul destroying job imaginable, but not any longer.

2003 has seen the development of our BWM range of equipment specifically designed to tackle the problems associated with the above and we are proud to announce the official launch of this equipment at Drupa 2004. The range includes a Blanket Wash Module cleaner, an Anilox Coating Roll cleaner and a combination system that can accept both Anilox and Module together.

All of the BWM series systems utilise Alphasound, complete with many integral system controls that render the units extremely easy to operate. Initially the ultrasonics tank will contain 90% water plus 10% of a chemical additive to a known level that is heated to about 45 degrees Celsius. This is the criteria required before the BWM system is allowed to operate.

The brush is removed from the module and placed on the cradle situated within the tank. Sitting on this cradle automatically engages the gear at the end of the brush with the specifically designed drive mechanism that will rotate the brush during cleaning. The remainder of the module is placed into the basket and lowered into the tank. The cycle start button is then depressed to commence the continuous 10 minute automatic cycle of ultrasonics followed by a pump cycle. At this point, the operative can be re-assigned to other duties because his job is now over for about an hour. After this time the module is inspected and the cycle repeated if required. If the module is clean, it and the brush are transferred to the rinse tank for manual rinsing, re-assembly and re-installation on the press.

The operation and effectiveness of this equipment will astound you and you'll wonder how you ever managed without one!
